A whirlwind romance of convenience,
Of fireflies and summer skies,
And kisses in the fields,
We fell together,
Into (not quite) love,
Where whispered words tasted so s-w-e-e-t,
Like artificial sugar and desperation,
And we wantedneededhoped this would last forever,
But summer slipped by,
In moments as fragile as a butterflies wings,
And you said maybe,
We could burn brighter than shooting stars,
